How we replace timber rooflines with uPVC soffits, fascias and guttering
We start our process by removing all existing timber fascias and soffits. After doing this we check the roof rafters, if any are rotten we then repair or treat them to ensure we have a solid fixing for the new fascias.
We then use aluminium capped fixing pins to securely fix the fascias and aluminium screws to secure the soffits. By using aluminium there will be no rusting, which ensures there will be no rust spots developing on your new fascias or soffits around your conservatory roof.
After we have securely installed the soffits and fascias we can then fit your new guttering in Southend, South Benfleet, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Stock and the surrounding areas. There are choices for you to make in regards to your gutter colour and style. With regards to style you have two choices, round or square.
Because we have treated the timber in the rafters, we can now ensure the rafters do not become damp again. We install over fascia vents, also known as hidden vents, and we install eaves protection to prevent the damp. Hidden vents give your roof a chance to breathe without having to vent the soffit. The Other Elements of a Roofline
Here we explain what each of the other roofline elements are, and their purpose. This gives you a better idea of all of the elements used in a roofline. When it comes to your new roofing on your conservatory these would also be involved in the construction.
Eaves Protection Boards
Eave protection boards help to stop sagging at the eaves level of your roof, which could cause water to accumulate if not protected. They are mostly used in a new build or a refurbishment, so that it reduces the need to remove a large section of roof to replace the felt in the future.
Hidden Vents
These are placed in the roofing line to create air flow between the fascia board and the felt. To avoid unattractive vents being visible we use fascia vents as they are a smarter way to vent a tiled conservatory roof.
Box Ends
These are for soffits, fascias and gutters that are located on the property’s gable end on the corner. The purpose of a gable box end is to connect the bargeboards situated on the gable end to the soffits and fascias on the non-gable end.
